evening of fun as the Good News Clown Crew shares their comedy show at
the West After School Center.
Music, magic, and
zany skits will entertain young and old in this uplifting show.
The Good News
Clown Crew is a creative outreach ministry of the Lancaster First United
Methodist Church. They have performed for local parades, festivals and
organizations as well as National Ministry conferences. In addition to
performing, they also teach classes in Clowning and have produced

Cedar Community Learning

This week at Cedar CLC,
the students were introduced to "Speed Stacking" a game that can
potentially be played at state and national levels. Mr. Shupp, who is a
regular staff member for Lancaster City Schools and employed with the
Cedar CLC after school, is seeking to develop a team that can compete
and he is looking for a few good stackers. Cedar Heights is seeking to
compete in the Guinness World Record for "Speed Stacking" and if there
is a team developed by Mr. Shupp consisting of students who participate
in the after school and during school, then the potential to play at
local, state and national competitions seems very exciting to see.

Tallmadge Community Learning

The Tallmadge
Community Learning Center will soon be expanding its services to
serve additional students now that a license upgrade has been
obtained. Supper will also be made available for students
beginning Monday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m.
|
|
|
|
West After School Center |
 |
The students at the
West After School Center had visitors from the Fairfield Department
of Health. Pat Navin and Kevin Barlow shared tips on hand washing
and food safety. Their presentation was interrupted by the
appearance of Fight Bac, the big green Germ! Our students are now
prepared to be safe during cold and flu season.

MEAL PROGRAMS at the WASC
Busy parents can take advantage of the availability of supper at the
WASC, Cedar Heights, and Tallmadge, Monday-Friday, throughout the year.
The snacks we serve are free, and the supper program (5:30-6:00 pm) is
open to any child in our programs or others that would sign up for
supper, based on qualification requirements similar to the school lunch
program. The WASC is a sponsor of afterschool meals for the centers
serving children at East, West, Cedar Heights, and Tallmadge. |
