The Cedar Heights Learning LunchBox Program, sponsored by the West After School Center as part of the Cedar CLC summer program, invites students back to school every other week to work with reading teachers for the purpose of sustaining their reading skills and further advance vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and other key literacy skills that sometimes regress during the summer months. An average of 55-65 students have taken advantage of this program and receive new books to read between visits to the Learning LunchBox Program. While at school, the students also enjoy the FEED OHIO Summer Lunch & Enrichment Program available at the Cedar Heights Playground. To learn more about the Cedar CLC, click HERE. |

What do Early Learning Initiative (ELI) students (3, 4, and 5 year olds) like to do on a hot, sticky summer afternoon? Play in the water! As you can see, they had fun learning how to share and cooperate with each other - and the adults that watched had fun, too! |
