Question: What do you like most about the
after school program?
(Parent responses as of Feb. 4)
1. my child enjoys this program, and
that he is becoming stronger with his work ethics. Also that he gets to
interact with other children. He really likes to come.

We are pleased to congratulate Jared Eyman,
WASC participant and 4th grader
who won the West School Spelling Bee.
His winning word was "GLISTEN" |
Since we have reached the mid-year
point of the school year, the parents of our West After School
students have spent time this week learning about their children's
progress at WASC. This is a very important time when the teachers
and parents can share information with each other. Our parents are
also taking time to fill out a survey. This benefits us by giving us
an idea
of their experiences and helps us to fulfill everyone's needs.

The elements and principles of design are
the building blocks used to create a work of art. The elements of design
can be thought of as the things that make up a painting, drawing, design
etc. Good or bad - all paintings will contain most of if not all of the
seven elements of design.
Participants at all four of the West
After School Center after school program sites (WASC, Cedar CLC,
Tallmadge CLC, and the Eastside Center for Success) learned from this
lesson.
Maybe we will inspire one or more
students to
become a designer someday! |

MEAL PROGRAMS at the WASC
Busy parents can take advantage of the availability of supper at the
WASC, Cedar Heights, and Tallmadge, Monday-Friday, throughout the year.
The snacks we serve are free, and the supper program (5:30-6:00 pm) is
open to any child in our programs or others that would sign up for
supper, based on qualification requirements similar to the school lunch
program. The WASC is a sponsor of afterschool meals for the centers
serving children at East, West, Cedar Heights, and Tallmadge.
